Planning a beach wedding? Then why not have the color blue as your theme. You could do a blue theme wedding otherwise too. Light and pale blues make a nice summery or even morning wedding color.
Blue Theme Wedding Ideas
Make light blue colored Japanese paper fans and write your invite on it. You could even wrap small blue boxes with sweets in them and place your wedding invitation card on top of each one of them. Paint the picture of the blue sky and stick small cotton wool to represent clouds. Then write the invite in the center of the sky. Cut out dolphins with blue paper and write the invite on them.
You could even paint small pots with the color blue and plant small pansy plants in them. Then plug in a stick with a paper on top of it into the pot. Write your invite on the paper. If you are having a fun theme, then for all the ladies who are being invited, you could also stick your invite on a bottle of blue nail polish! Buy small blue colored scented candles and stick your invitation card on it.
Do up the venue with blue candles in the corners and lanterns hanging from the walls. You could also hang chandeliers with blue lights in it. Complementing this, the groom could either wear the same flower on his jacket or even wear a blue colored tie or bow. He could even carry a handkerchief with his initials embroidered on it with blue thread. The bridesmaids and flower girls could wear crowns made of green, blue and white satin leaves and flowers.
Off shoulder ankle length light blue gowns will look good for this color theme. You could even ask your bridesmaids to choose their own gowns as long as it matches with the color blue. It will look different and yet they will be in perfect harmony with one another. They could even wear navy blue gowns and complement it with a string of pearl necklace and white roses.
Cake, Food and Cocktails
Make a traditional white cake and place a couple of blue jays on top. You could also decorate the cake with blue flowers all over. Blue curacao is the perfect drink for the occasion. You could even try blue mojitos with green mint. Don’t forget to add blueberry pies to your food menu!
Pack a piece of the wedding cake in small blue boxes tied with a white ribbon for each of the guests. Get rings, brooches, bracelets made from blue beads and crystals and gift them to the guests. Make square shaped cupcakes to look like small gift boxes. Then frost it with a blue color base and a white ribbon.
