Ideas For Kids birthday Party Themes
Snow White And Several Dwarfs
The birthday party girl could play the princess. The invited kids could be dwarfs. Instead of seven dwarfs one could have several of them. One of the parents could play the evil witch who pretends to be mean to the kids. He or she could have a bag full of the candies in possession.
The kids have to please the evil witch so that she/he lets the Snow White be. Kids would require showing some talent to the witch to keep the princess with them. The witch will give one candy to each kid who performs an act. As the witch is down to losing the last candy, she/he could wear a disappointed face to having lost to such talented kids.
The birthday kid could be Aladdin and the kids could be his gang of thieves. There will be a lamp that the kid would rub, and each time he does, one of the thieves would turn into the Jeanie and they play some children’s game that the birthday kid asks of them.
A Halloween party could have kids dressed as goblins, ghouls, witches, wizards, what have you. The entire party could be a game of dark room. The location could be turned into an old fortress or a dilapidated house.
It could be fit with furniture or curtains to give a ghostly atmosphere, and also would aid in kids finding places to hide behind. Every time, the last person to be spotted gets some sort of a reward. Let the birthday kid do the honours.
Pinocchio party could simply be a game of liars, where all kids are dressed up as Pinocchio, basically with a fake long nose. They all sit in a circle and they play ‘the winking game’. This is an old game where one person (a cop) is designated with the task of finding a person who winks at all the other players in a manner that the cop can’t spot the winker.
One by one, this winker winks at the participants, except the cop, and the person winked at, falls out of the circle. The game is simply for the cop and the winker to outdo one another. The game ends when the cop finds the winker or the winker outdoes the cop by not getting caught. Once over, this is repeated again with a different kid as the ‘cop’ and the rest of the kids picking ‘winker’ amongst them about whom the cop won’t know.
Famous People’s Party
Kids come dressed up as famous people and they all have some sort of an act that you associate with the person they are posing as. It could be a competition. The best performance wins a hamper with goodies like stationery, cookies, etc.
You could all have a ballet system to pick the winner. All the kids put the name of the person they think was the best, on a piece of paper and put it in the big bowl. Let an adult supervise so that they all don’t end up putting their own names.
