Ideas For Birthday Themes

Ideas For Birthday ThemesMy kid was recently invited to two consecutive parties, both of which had quite an interesting party theme. The first was the Amazon Rainforest theme. Not only did they have balloons shaped like parrots and monkeys hanging from ceiling but even the cake resembled the forest!

Even each of the tables in the sitting area had been decorated with orchids of different colors. The other one had a beach theme. Starting from the invitation card which was shaped like a shell (this was stuck to a stick which had been inserted into a sugar coated biscuit designed like a palm tree) the party itself was held on the beach (but quite far away from the sea for safety’s sake).

All the kids had taken their beach toys and had an excellent time making sand castles! Here are some more ideas that I wanted to share with all of you.

Different Ideas For Birthday Themes

Gardening Party

The invitation card could be a small sapling with the card stuck onto it. The kids could be asked to get  shovels, watering cans, soil etc. In fact just about anything related to gardening.

Ideas For Birthday Themes

You could take charge for providing the saplings and they could spend the entire evening planting and getting themselves dirty! Please do tell the parents not to dress up the kids in their best attires. Food could be anything that’s made of fruits and vegetables. The cake could be shaped like a bouquet of flowers.

Farm Party

Design the invitation card to look like any farm animal. Decorate the place with animal posters, balloons etc. There could be a corner where a soft sink in mattress is kept and sprinkled with hay for the kids to play around.

Ideas For Birthday Themes

How about an animal based puppet show? A person dressed like Old Mc Donald can also roam around and play with the kids. Food could be primarily dairy based – ice cream, milkshake, cottage cheese etc. The cake could be a farm house.

Underwater Party

Make invitation cards that look like dolphins, whales etc. Decorate the place with blue ribbons and balloons of different shades. Keep small aquariums or fish bowls with multicolored fish in corners. Make a cake that looks like underwater life – fish, crabs, corals etc.

Ideas For Birthday Themes

Food could include prawn cutlets, fish balls, crab meat dumplings etc. Play games like trying to catch a magnetic fish with a magnetic rod, magic sand etc. You could even have a water bed for kids to jump on.

Bubble Party

Stick your party invites to a bubble blower. Decorate the place with white balloons of different sizes so that they look like bubbles. Inflate a kiddie pool and throw in small white balls to play with.

Ideas For Birthday Themes

Have a ‘khoi bag’ stuffed with white thermocol balls and goodies like rubbers, pencils, candies, stickers, small plastic toys etc. Have a huge bubble shaped ice cream cake and food everything of which is circular in shape.

Going To The Market Party

The invites could be written out on the back of false money notes. Decorate the place with posters relating to a market scene – green grocer, florist etc.  For the food have live counters where people are sitting and ‘selling stuff which will need to be bought with ‘money’ (give a wad of false notes to each one who is coming at the entrance itself).

Ideas For Birthday Themes

Have a cake that looks like a brown grocery bag with lots things sticking out – loaf of bread, fruits, vegetables, fish, flowers etc. I have a few more in mind. I will be back with them soon. Till then I’ll think of the back presents one can give in each these above mentioned themed parties. You keep thinking too and do share them with me.
