Choosing a gift for a baby is a tedious affair. Gifting a baby on occasions like baby shower or birthdays or perhaps just casually could be something to mull over. You do not want to get the baby something he/she might already have.

A toy or a game may be a common or usual gift for a baby; however, there is a vast array to choose from. Nowadays, when you walk into a toy store or look for toy and games online, you would be amazed to see the range and types of toys and games they have.

If you are not very close to the baby, which is, if you do not know him/her that well, it is easier to get the baby a present. You just need to know the baby’s age. If you are close to the baby then you can perhaps get the baby his/her favorites. For instance, my niece loved watching ‘In the Night Garden’; hence, I got her a stuffed ‘Upsy Daisy’ toy.

Personalized

Clothes are also very good as gifts for babies. But gifting personalized clothes would be a better option. There are online stores and also outlets at your local market from where you can get clothes personalized for the baby. These days decorating a baby’s room with all personalized stuff is gaining grounds.

It does not just look beautiful, but the baby feels comfortable in the environment too. If you do not want to gift clothes then you can consider getting a name banner for the baby’s room. Blankets, photo frames, mugs, wall clocks, etc. can also be personalized according to your liking.

Time To Grow Up

Gifts meant for learning, growth and development are a perfect choice. Find out the age of the baby and get him/her gifts that would develop the baby’s brain. If the baby is around 6-7 months old and is about to develop teeth, then consider getting a teether as a gift.

In this period a baby likes chewing stuff and a teether would be a great solution. Interactive games like baby laptop with alphabets and numbers are fun. Stacking toys and blocks are good learning toys too. A walker for a baby who has not yet started to walk is quite a popular choice. Similarly, a rocking chair and a baby swing are great as presents too.

Affectionate Ones

Other cute and fun gifts for the little one and the most loved in the family would be a bath kit. You can consider gifting a sweet gift basket as well, which could have toys, a jumpsuit, a feeding bottle and some treats too.

Encourage the baby’s physical abilities by gifting him/her an activity gym. This would occupy the baby and also help the parents finish off their chores while the baby is engaged. A dvd of the baby’s favorite cartoon show is also a wonderful present that the parents would appreciate too.
