The Spooky Cobwebs

One of the easiest Halloween decorations are the spooky cobwebs. This can be easily made with strings and must be placed in a dimly lit hall. All you need to do is take slightly thick spools of thread and cut into long pieces. Attach one end to the ceiling and the other to the walls around the hall. Arrange it in a haphazard fashion, giving it the look and feel of a real cobweb filled room. And to scare your guests, add a little bit of water to these strings and let the wet strings brush against their bodies as they enter the room. This will create a really spooky atmosphere.

Black Spiders

Once you have created the cobwebs, spiders must be present for scaring the guests. So, get ready to make some scary black spiders. Take some egg cartons from a local store. Cut each one of the egg holders separately. They would look like the arched bodies of the spider. Paint it with black colour.

Make a red or white eye with paint. Attach the legs of the spiders either by cutting out straws or with thin metal pieces that can be slightly bent to look like the spider’s legs. Paste them to the sides of the egg holder and let the spiders dangle with the help of strings. Attach these spiders to walls and ceilings and it must be in a position to just pop out of nowhere and scare the guests.

Transform Your Living Room Into An Abandoned House

The best way of creating the Halloween ambience is to throw in items that would just make the rooms extremely spooky. And one of the best ways of doing this is to transform the living room into one that looks like it has been abandoned years ago. To create this image, all you need to do is hang some shredded gauge from the windows. Replace the curtains with some white shredded cloth and gauge. You can also cover up the furniture with these torn clothes and gauge. Keep the windows open so that the outside air can rustle the curtains, making them even spookier.

Hanging Ghosts

The Halloween party would be incomplete if you are unable to scare your guests. So, to add in that extra flavour, make arrangements to create a few hanging ghosts. For this, you need to get hold of a golf or tennis ball and wrap it with big sheets of newspaper. Cover the ball with newspaper and gather the sides at one end. Tie this with a string.

Let the rest of the paper flow out of the ball. This will give the appearance of something that has a head and is wearing a flowing dress. Paint the newspaper white and with the help of a marker, make a scary ghost face. Instead of the newspaper you can also make this with white tissues that are easily available. Attach strings to the ghosts and hang it in areas around the home. It can be hung on trees, on the exteriors of the house, near the windows and a few can also find its way into the living room.

Ghost Foot Steps

After finishing with the ghost, you must make your guests believe that some of them stepped inside your house. To create this feeling, the ghost foot steps are a must. Take a sponge and draw your footprint on it. Cut this out and dip it in white paint. Now this will act as a stencil. Place the foot steps in the places where you’d like it to be. It is best to make some marks near the entrance to your home and a few inside the room. However, make sure that you are using washable paint or your room would be completely destroyed. To make these footsteps visible arrange for some spooky lights as well.

Spooky Lights

For a Halloween party, different types of spooky lights are used by the hosts. While some make use of pumpkins, others create scary lights with balloons. For making pumpkin lights, you need to get hold of some pumpkin shells. Carve out a scary face with the help of a knife and then add a neon light inside the shell.

This will create a scary lighting option. You can also use votive candle holders that have holes in it. As you place a candle in it, the light will create odd and scary patterns, evoking the Halloween image. Other ways of incorporating spooky lights would be by covering the lamps with red, green or blue cellophane paper. The dim lights will create the ambience for a horror film.

Voodoo Dolls

Voodoo dolls are perfect ways for lending the spooky effect to your house. Attach a doll to the hall’s entrance and see how guests are scared with it. This can be made with any old doll. Just cover it up with black fabric and put some straws and grasses to its hair. Let it look ragged. Paint its lips red and have some stitch marks on the body.
