Game Ideas For Children’s Party
Children’s party games should be focused on having loads of fun without any complex rules or instructions. Here are some simple and fun party game ideas for young children.
Party Game Ideas For Young Children
Sweet Ring Toss Game
For playing this ring toss game, you will need at least 3 rings of about 6 inches diameter, made of soft plastic or cardboard, small novelty toys and candies to be given out as gifts.
Spread a table cloth or a bed sheet on the floor and arrange the toys and candies on them. Let the kids take turns tossing the rings, aiming at the goodies. Each of them can have two or more tries. Limit the number of throws for children in order to participate all of them. They win those toys and candies which comes within the ring. The game can be made harder or easier by having the kids stand farther or closer.
Water Balloon Volleyball
Water balloon volleyball requires lots of water balloons and a pair of towels. The water balloon volleyball game can be played with 4 children. Divide them into two groups and give each pair a towel. Each child can hold on to one side of the towel, while the other kid holds the other side.
One group can start the game by placing the water balloon in the centre of the towel and toss it to the opposite team. They should catch the balloon in the towel and the volley continues until one group misses or balloon bursts giving points to the other team. Adult supervision is required in this game, as the balloon parts can cause choking hazards for young children.
Gone Fishing Game
You will need a toy fishing pole, bed sheet and small toys or candies as gifts. Wrap the gifts in colored paper and make a loop on one side so that it can be attached to the hook easily. Drape the bed sheet over a series of chairs arranged or tie the both ends of the sheet across the room on hooks so that it doesn’t slide down. That resembles a pond.
Two volunteers are needed for this game to assist young kids in fishing. One person should hide behind the bed sheet and the other person can help the kids to go fishing. Allow the kids to go fishing in turns. When one kid places the pole over the curtain (into the pond) the hiding person should attach some thing on to the hook of the fishing pole. The other person can help the kids in letting them know that they have caught something. You can add more fun to this game by giving fake tugs on the pole and attaching the gifts on random trials.
Who Am I? Game
Who am I game can be played with any number of kids and it’s an icebreaker game which allows the kids to mingle with each other. You will need animal flash cards or a paper and pen. Write the name of an animal on a piece of paper or use a flash card for instance. Stick it the back of a kid. Allow the other little kids to read the name silently.
Now, the kid with the label should ask questions to the other kids. Answers can only be either ‘yes’ or ‘no’. The kid with the label should finally guess the correct answer. You can help the kids in framing tricky questions to get the real answer.
