DIY Halloween Costume Ideas For Toddlers

With young kids, we need to come up with something which is comfortable in wearing and not  that messy. At the same time, it shouldn’t be hard on your wallet. With a little effort, creativity and patience, you can design Halloween costumes on your own to spice up the Halloween celebrations.

Hawaiian Tourist Costume

Dressing up like a Hawaiian tourist would probably be the easiest of all Halloween costumes. For boys, you need a beach themed or floral printed shirt and shorts. For girls, you can get any halter dress with floral designs. Flowers or fruit based hats and floral lei or garlands around the forehead and neck will go well with this.

Safari Guide Costume

Safari guide costumes comes next to the easy DIY Halloween costume ideas list. You will need a khaki shirt, shorts, black belt, hat, black boots, a toy binoculars and a map. If you want to be more creative, then you can add vests, goggles and dark bandana to look cool.

Road Halloween Costume

Get a light colored tape and stick them on black sweatshirt and pants. Stick them in a pattern which resembles the tracks on a road. Get your toddlers toy cars and trucks and pin them on to the dress carefully with safety pins. Small and light weight toys will be better.

Zebra Halloween Costume

Animal themed Halloween costumes will be more appealing for young kids. Get one white sweatshirt with hood and a white pant.  Cut some stripes of equal sizes from a black colored fabric and glue them to the sweatshirt and pants with the help of a fabric glue.  Using a white fabric, cut two oval shaped pieces for making ears for the zebra. Glue the lower part of the ears to the hood so that the upper end is protruding outside. Glue a small black stripe to the inner side of the ears on both sides.

Take a black yarn and cut some strings of similar length. Glue them along the centre line of the hood so that it forms the hair. Similarly get some longer strings from black yarn and glue them together to the back side of the white pants to form the tail.

Kangaroo Halloween Costume

Take one dark brown sweatshirt and pants with same color. Cut out a small piece of cloth from a light colored fabric and glue it the front side of the sweatshirt. Using a small piece of cloth from the light colored fabric, make a pouch around the belly for the baby kangaroo.

As done with the zebra costume, cut similar shapes from brown fabric to make the ears and a long strip to form the tail. You can put a toy doggy or any matching small soft toy inside the pouch if you like.

Dalmatian Halloween Costume

For putting up a dalmatian costume, all you have to do is stick some small pieces of black fabric to a white sweatshirt and pants. You can stick a tiny tail too at the back of the costume.
