Nothing can be more exciting, other than welcoming a friend’s baby girl into the world, and if you are the baby shower hostess, you need to think of beautiful, sweet and great ideas to welcome the little girl to this big world. There are a variety of ideas that you can work on but very importantly, the baby shower cake needs to match the theme chosen. Amongst an array of amazing ideas for a baby shower cake for a girl, some are:
Baby Shower Cakes
Something to give a royal treatment to the baby. You can bake this cake or order it but make sure it is a rectangular shape and frost it in pink or yellow. You can use icing to draw a little castle on the cake and on side put a little plastic crown.
Decorate the sides of the cake with little curled red ribbons, and use some coordinated coloured icing to write something special for the baby such as “Welcome Home Princess!”
Arrange for different coloured batters and set them in layers. It is better if you have a circle shape pan for baking. For colouring the batter you can use different coloured icings like blue and rose colour.
You can use gum-Tex and fondant and cut out the letters of the baby’s name from the sheet. You can also cut out little buttons. Use these on top of the cake to decorate it.
The Pooh Cake
This is a double layered cake. You can use vanilla and chocolate ganache to make the top layer of the cake. For the bottom layer, use white almond sour crème with Italian meringue butter-cream and fresh cut strawberries.
Use smooth blue icing for top layer and add few green stripes. For the bottom layer, use light blue. Add characters from Winnie the Pooh made out of fondant mixed with tylose to make a gumpaste. Put these around both the layers of the cake.
Dancing Bear Cake
All you need is a stand-up Cuddly Bear pan set, spatula, white ruffle for a tutu, needle and thread. Bake the cake in the Cuddly Bear pan set. Smooth out the bear’s feet using icing and spatula. For the fur, you can use white pull-out fur.
Use gumpaste buttons, made out of fondant and tylose for the eyes and nose of the teddy. Sew some beads to the waistline of the ruffle and put it in double layers around the teddy’s waist. You can secure it with icing drops.
Primarily you will need a baby buggy pan. Once you have baked the cake in the baby buggy pan, you will just need to decorate it. Use thinned smooth white icing for the background and sides. For the wheel spokes, wheel rims and the buggy handle, use blue icing.
Use yellow icing to cover the hood of the buggy and rose icing for the buggy rim. You can also make gumpaste flower and petals out of fondant and tylose. Fix it on the buggy rim with icing and your adorable carriage cake is ready.
